The sheet, your photos and the finished font are all made inside this browser. There is no upload server, no sign-up and no payment.
Checking network lock…Write your own letters, numbers and symbols on a printed sheet or on screen, and get a font file (.ttf) you can install.
I wanted my own handwriting as a font, and every service asked me to sign up, pay, or upload my writing to their servers. So I built one that does it all in the browser, and I'm sharing it free, with no account and no paywall.
Yes. No limits, no account, no payment. The site is paid for by the ads on this page.
No. Reading the photos and building the font both happen in an area of this page that is blocked from the internet. After the page has loaded you can even switch off your connection.
Whatever you write, plus letters built from it: accented Latin letters (é, ñ, ü…) from the accent marks, voiced kana (が, ぱ…) from ゛ and ゜, and with Hangul jamo mode all 11,172 Korean syllables. Characters you didn't write are shown in the device's normal font.
Jamo mode needs about 105 boxes (2 sheets) and covers every syllable by putting your consonants and vowels together, so it can look a little regular. 2,350 mode has you write each common syllable yourself (27 sheets): it looks most like you but takes longer, and rare syllables fall back to the normal font.
Yes. Choose “On screen” and write each character with a finger, stylus or mouse. A tablet with a pen works best. Your screen writing is saved only in this browser.
Take the photo from straight above in good light with all four black corner squares visible and no shadow across the page. If it still fails, tap “Set corners” and drag the four circles onto the squares.
The font is made from your handwriting, so it's yours to use, including in your own documents and designs. We keep no copy and claim no rights.
On Android, use it in apps that let you add fonts. On iPhone and iPad, install it with a font installer app (a configuration profile), then use it in apps such as Pages or Keynote. On a computer, open the file and choose Install.
